Cabin top

Dorade’s fine looking cabin top had some fine looking leaks, primarily over the navigator’s berth. When we dug into it, the original plan of fixing the bad seam along the starboard hatch runner went out the window.
When the cabin top was sealed with fiberglass and bog, it was only taken up to the seams on the hatch turtle – not a very long lived leak solution. The only way to proceed was to remove everything, down to the subdeck. The fiberglass will be be replaced with 1/8″ of plywood to absorb any cabin movement and a layer of fiberglass or dynel.
