The main mast is in final shaping. From a box section it has gradually been rounded and tapered. Section shapes at given lengths are templated from the drawn plans. The templates are used to check progress of the shaping. The planes are sharp and the work looks really good. Grabbed some shavings off the floor that were forty feet long! All of the athwart-ships thru bolt holes are drilled. The mast head plans arrive today so shaping there can be completed. The booms and mizzen are varnished and the hardware is going on.
