Sydney-Hobart Race: How to Follow

On Boxing Day (December 26) Dorade leaves on the formidable Rolex Sydney Hobart Race out of Sydney, Australia. The 600+mile race marks the final event in the team’s “Dorade Down Under” campaign, which kicked off earlier this year.

“Matt and I have been down here in Sydney for a few days already,” said Pam Rorke Levy who co-owns the 52-foot wooden yawl with Matt Brooks. “The boat and crew are getting ready for what is considered the hardest ocean race of them all and the reception here has been extraordinary. Boating is second only to cricket in terms of popularity here, and there is a deep appreciation for the art and science of boat design.

“Once again, Dorade will be the oldest boat in the fleet, which also includes the fastest and newest of ocean racing boats. With the forecast as it is currently shaping up, this should be a race worth watching. Wishing you all a happy New Year from down under.”

You can follow the boat starting at 1 p.m. Australia time on December 26, 2017 via the live tracker at http://www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/tracker/
