The textile restorer, Hannah Riley, has managed to source wool ‘bunting’ fabric from England. This is the base fabric that the replica burgee will be constructed from. Hannah has carried out all of her test dyeing and achieved a good color match.
Hannah has also a couple of leads on companies that will be able to replicate the machine embroidered labels on the hoist end of the original Dorade burgee. She has additionally found a good weight sailcloth that will work on the hoist end of the replica burgee.
The Two Star Maritime burgee will also be constructed from the same wool ‘bunting’ fabric from England and sailcloth. Both burgees will be framed so that they can be displayed side-by-side in Dorade.
Hannah Riley is an Accredited Textile Conservator/Restorer
