Dorade’s new captain, Alex Greenson joined the yacht in Tortola, BVI, on the 23rd of January. The following day Dorade departed from Nanny Cay, Tortola, at 13:00. The beginning of the sail was a beat, up the Drake Chanel. At 18:30 Dorade sailed over the top of Virgin Gorda, which provided the perfect angle for transiting the Anegada Passage, with its prevailing northeasterly wind. Dorade sailed through the night on port tack. The sail was wet at times, and exciting due to the occasional squals that were encountered. Dorade arrived at Simpson Bay, St. Maarten at 06:30 in plenty of time to transit into the lagoon at the 09:30 bridge opening. By 10:30 on the 24th of January, Dorade was safely moored to the dock at the Cupe Coy Marina, where she will live, while Captain Alex prepares her for the upcoming Heineken Regatta.
