A brief weather window opened up for us on Monday allowing us a smooth passage from Port Grimaud to Genoa. Since the end of Les Voiles, the weather here has been pretty wild. Epic squalls, driving rain and pumping mistral have made it feel more like England rather than the Mediterranean. We decided to take the chance to get here while we had calm conditions just incase it was the last opportunity and apparently we got out just in time!
Now we are waiting it out in Genoa for the Stadiongracht our ship to turn up. Dorade is all packed up and ready for her cruise across the Atlantic. It’s the very same ship that brought her over from Bermuda so fingers crossed it will be as smooth a passage as last time.
We took the opportunity to take a hike up to top of a hill overlooking the marina yesterday afternoon, a two hour walk well worth it for the views. See if you can spot Dorade in the picture.
