After a week of intense competition, Dorade and the rest of the fleet at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week wrapped up racing today. The team took second overall in IRC Division 2.

We had an epic day today in conditions that couldn’t be worse for Dorade (massive wind against tide), but we kept up the fight and managed a fifth, which allowed us to secure second place overall in the regatta by one point. It’s been a long week, we’re very tired, but we have a great feeling of accomplishment finishing second in this type of event all while going up against a very talented fleet. Dorade is an amazing yacht to be in the hunt against modern boats at a very technical venue – she always seems to surprise us!
