Despite the first day of racing here at the Regattes Royal in Cannes being cancelled due to strong wind conditions, the Dorade team were informed by our neighbours that we had most definitely won the hors d’oeuvres competition. What started as a tradition during the transpac, the early evening cocktail and snack soirée is still going strong. We have reached bottle of wine number 20 according to Nick who is keeping a tally. If you ask Hayze, this is perfectly acceptable behaviour as technically rose wine is “French Gatorade”.
During yesterday’s cocktail hour we began to think ahead to the new crew uniform for next year. Pam had very kindly bought me a regatta scarf so we decided to test it out on the boys to see if it was an item that might work for them too. They certainly were not convinced but what do think?
