The Dorade crew gathered at the New York Yacht Club at Harbour Court for one final group meal with friends and family. Matt and Pam presented a special gift to each member of the Bermuda crew — a bone-handled knife with a customized scrimshaw design commemorating this historic race, showing the Newport lighthouse on one side of the handle, and the Bermuda lighthouse on the other. Each crew member was also presented with a leather lanyard strung with beads collected by Matt in his world travels — a good luck amulet that’s traditional among mountaineers and climbers.
