The mast is made of sitka spruce and was made using the bird’s mouth hollow construction method. It is light and easy to build (Tom is holding the mast with 2 fingers in the second photo). We purchased the wood at Downes and Reader in Stoughton, MA. The mast is 10’6” from the drawing from S&S. There will be blocking glued at the base and the top. I’ll send you some photos when she’s all planked in a few weeks.
