Paramount on the list of racing improvements for DORADE is to get the genoa sheet lead as low as possible on the rail. It was decided that the best all around solution would be to fabricate some fair lead cars that could be used on their own or aft the existing cars. The carvings shown above will be coated in epoxy and sanded smooth to before we send them off to be cast at Mystic River Foundry. The castings will then be machined to fit the genoa track. The trumpeted line entry and exits will be hollowed out accordingly also after casting. The slight raised section on the pattern allows for a captive spring loaded pin.
