RORC 600 Race Update 2014-02-27

Out from Guadaloupe, and now smashing into 1.5 meter seas and 22 knots. We will be beating like this for 6-7 hours. It is taking an extreme toll on crew and boat. We are all tired and beat up. We have managed to reclaim 1 st in class, putting many hours on Selene, who got to Guadaloupe 2 miles in front of us. We played the wind shadow very well compared to all the boats around us, but it still took almost 6 hours of becalmed drifting time to escape.
