From Classic Boat 2014 Awards issue:
This year, Classic Boat has launched a range of awards to recognise contributions in the world of traditional boats. We are asking you, the readers, to share your top nominations in each of the categories below, including restorations, new builds, yards and person of the year.
Our very own Matt Brooks has been nominated for “Person of the Year”. The caption reads “On 20 July, history was repeated when S7S ocean-racing yawl Dorade crossed the finishing line of the 2013 Transpac ocean race in first place. The first time was in 1936, when her designer olin Stephens was at the help. overall victory in a largely modern race like this is an unprecedented achievement for a classic yacht, and it’s largely down to Dorade’s owner Matt Brooks’ determination to race her as she ought to be.”
