Myles’ Blog

As Dorade sits and sways gently in her quiet corner of the Hinckley Marina, she receives tiny bursts of wake from the jetty opening that tease anticipation of the imminent towering crests that shall soon to be overcome.

She is patient, as are her caretakers, as we steadily move forward in an ever present venture that that knows no straight lines.  We take things as they come, and put our full focus on the tasks at hand; being sure that gumption is always present in our driven hands.

The masts were stepped, the rigging was installed, and the canvases were flaked on the booms.  She looks a lot bigger with her poles up, and ready to take on the world.

I really enjoyed my time on board this week as I cleaned, organized and polished, all the while swaying and singing old folk songs to myself as the evenings rolled along.  Its always good to be on the water.
