Davis G. Murray the "master of deviation" made the trip over to Coral Bay from Saint Thomas yesterday to help sort out our compasses. Using his sun reading compass we re calibrated the B and G flux gate compass to exact precision. The box compass was adjusted and Davis wrote up an appropriate deviation table. […]

The work on the construction of the replica of the original Dorade dinghy is proceed quickly at IYRS. The second planks on each side will be installed today on the Dorade Dinghy. The IYRS students will be starting work the rig soon as well. Related article

Dorade has over 70 manuals to all of her various systems. Every attempt has been made to have both a paper copy as well as a digital version of each manual.  These come in handy daily as we are learning all the systems aboard.
