Dorade wrapped up the Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race last weekend, finishing third place in both IRC and PHRF. The team along with the rest of the fleet endured challenging light air conditions throughout the 348 nautical-mile course from Brisbane to Keppel Bay, Queensland, Australia.
“It was a tough race with our average boat speed being just over 4.5 knots with lots of time spent drifting with the tide,” said Tactician Kevin Miller. “However, we had a great finish at sunset on Monday and saw the best breeze of the race. It was a great learning experience for the entire crew and we’re looking forward to what the rest of our Australia campaign will bring.”
Next up for the team in the “Dorade Down Under” campaign is Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, which takes place August 19-26 in the Whitsunday Islands.
