We pulled the anchor up at 0830 this morning. The conditions have really settled down now and we are motor sailing in 6 knots of breeze with a slight swell. Hopefully the sea is going to glass right off and we can rhumb line it home. Lots of little jobs have been ticked of in Turtle bay so the time was not wasted and all the other race boats left with us this morning which was reassuring. It was definitely the right decision to pull in for a few days. One boat that left had to come back in due to the severe sea state and one boat that made it back has split frames and now needs a refit.
The lines are out and hopefully this leg with provide more fish and whale sightings. We saw one large Whale when we arrived but I hope one doesn’t get to close.
